A Convenient All-in-One Dye Kit

Let me first start out by saying I have pretty damaged hair, yet I only dye my hair once or twice a year. My hair is naturally wavy, thick, dry, and frizzy. It's also pretty long. So, I was excited yet nervous to dye my hair with this kit and wasn't quite sure if there would be enough dye to go with... the style I was wanting (dip dye). But I went through with it anyway. First impression: Wow, the branding is SO cute! I opened the box, and everything was so well-packaged. I honestly didn't realize it came with a lightening kit already in the box, which was super helpful. Usually, dye boxes don't have this, leaving you to have to buy one on your own. AND it even included a mixing bowl and brush, which I will probably save and reuse for next time. The instruction manual was in a readable font size and wasn't in broken English. The steps were very clear and had visuals (thank God). As for the hair dye, I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't need to be mixed with anything else. (I'm bad at mixing dye as I'm impatient, and it usually ends up inconsistent, lol.) It was thick, easy to apply, and didn't splash all over the place like other dyes I've used in the past. I actually got some dye on my arm, neck, and face while dying my hair, which is to be expected. It actually came off really well. When I rinsed my hair afterward, I honestly expected purple dye to drip everywhere and for the dye to transfer on my hands when I touched it, but it didn't! I was so happy about this since I live in a new house. I also have a baby, so I'd hate to pick him up with dye all over my hands, even if it's dry. The results? The color is gorgeous! I did look a little more magenta to me, but I'm pretty sure it's because I had a warm-toned brunette dye in my hair beforehand, so naturally, the bleach stripped the brown part and left the reddish undertones, and then in turn, the purple dye ended up more reddish. The color does look a little bit choppy- like some parts are a bit lighter, but I didn't do a great job on the bleaching part of this, which I think is the problem here. I have always had difficulty bleaching my hair as my hair is dry, so adding another dry thing on top of it is very difficult to work through, if that makes sense. So, I ended up with a patchy bleach job, and in turn, a patchy dye job- again, my fault. But it still looks beautiful and looks better than I expected and looks incredible in braids. I love that the dye itself isn't smelly. It actually smells pretty pleasant. I'm a chronic complex migraine sufferer, and the fumes of bleach and dye are some of my migraine triggers. I only got a mild headache that lasted for maybe 30 minutes, versus a splitting headache for hours that other dyes would give me. Also, back to my dry hair. After the hair dying process, my hair feels almost softer than it had before and looks healthier! Of course, the bleach was drying, but the dye cleared that right up. Any improvements for this box kit? I think the only thing I'd suggest is maybe more bleach and dye? But I'm not to sure. I did dye quite a bit of hair, so in reality, maybe the proportions were perfect for the average person. After all, a single box of dye isn't meant to be enough for people with long hair; they typically need more than one box. So, I can let this slide. Would I get it again? YES, in a heartbeat! I want to try the blue next. I hope they get more colors as it looks like they only have six options right now. Would love to see more red color variations. I would love to see a pastel line too. :)
