Pleasantly surprised!
I went to purchase Day Wear for combination skin for my daughter and ended up purchasing this for myself as well. I have large pores around my hose and stay oily in the usual areas. (Despite being 49 years old!) This did a nice job in controlling the shine in those areas, but not drying out my skin....

Not for my skin
I have extremely oily skin. After three hours with this product, my skin became shiny and oily once more. I really wanted to like this, but it did not work as expected for me. I figure my skin is way too oily for this. In addition, I have noticed that EL serums work wonderfully on my skin but the mo...

Best Oil-Free Moisturizer

I have an aesthetic condition that requires an oil-free moisturizer around the eyes. When my go-to favorite was discontinued last Christmas, I decided to try Estée Lauder's DayWear Matte. After using it for a year, I'm now a huge fan of this product for its mild neutral scent, oil-free moisturizing properties and the best part, an improvement to my aesthetic condition.
Only Moisturizer That Works for Me

I have oily combination skin, and I've had tons of trouble finding a moisturizer that works without causing my sensitive skin to break out or become too dry. (Other products seem to go to either extreme.) I saw this in the store a year or so ago and thought I'd try it because it was a gel creme - though I was a little hesitant due to the price. The first time I tried it, I thought "Wow, my face feels really good." Along with feeling good, it looked better too after a couple of uses. I sat back though and waited for the inevitable breakout that occurs whenever I've found a moisturizer that seems to work. The breakout never came, and I was thrilled. Now, this is my favorite skincare product. The only downside is the cost - it seems a little on the high side to me, but I guess you get what you pay for.
Not a fan
I tend to get a shiny face so wanted to love this, but it ends up breaking down and pilling off my skin in little balls. Also it just doesnt moisturize the way that I would like it to. My face was dry at the end of the day and flaking! Really disappointing.

I've used Daywear Matte for over 5 years and would recommend to others. It does a great job at decreasing oil production and shine after hours of being on my skin. I use just a thin layer on my skin and pat it in. I also wait to put on my makeup for another 30 minutes to make sure the moisturizer soaks in. I find I need to blot 1x during the day to help minimize the shine and minimize oil on my skin. This is an improvement for me...with other products I've tried (non Estee lauder), I would be blotting multiple times a day starting 2-3 hours after putting makeup on, so I will say this product is worth it. I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because there's no SPF and the product has gone up in price close to $20 in the past 5 years.
