I have long hair. It's both fine and thick at the same time (fine individual strands, but lots of them). I bought the Olivia Garden Dazzle Styler Smooth & Shine Brush to replace my John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Finish boar/nylon bristles combo paddle brush that is no longer made. The main reason I went with the Olivia Garden brand was because I can take it apart to clean it, which I have never been able to do with any other brush. When I first opened my package, I noticed that the nylon bristles on the Olivia Garden brush are not evenly spaced. Some are closer and some are farther apart. I also noticed how much shorter all of the bristles are on this brush than my John Frieda brush. I thought that maybe I was being too picky, so I brushed my hair with it. Unfortunately, I was right to be concerned about the short bristles. The hairbrush doesn't reach all of my hair. I have to section my hair to brush it. I do like that the brush is curved like my scalp. However, this little brush is better for thin hair. I will probably give it to my nine year-old who has short, pin-straight hair that's easy to brush. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2 because of the fact that it's easy to clean compared to similar brushes.
