Q
Is this silicone free?
Asked by Dre
Official Answer By L'Oréal - Brand Engage
Hi There! We appreciate your interest in our Magic Anti-Redness BB cream. Silicones are used in some cosmetic products due to their unique sensory benefits and properties, such as long-lasting effects in lipstick. They also provide shine and softness in shampoo and other hair care products. The silicones we use allow us to achieve a wide range of textures and a high level of product performance, especially in terms of shine and lightness. Scientific evidence does not suggest that hair products containing silicones have a negative impact on scalp health (greasing or other undesirable effects), nor are they comedogenic. As with every fatty acid from mineral or natural origin, silicones are non-comedogenic when used in an appropriate dose in cosmetic products. To identify silicones in our products, look at the ingredients list on the packaging. They can be found under names such as DIMETHICONE, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONOL, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, AMODIMETHICONE, and CYCLOMETHICONE. A Fire-faced Goddess's Dream Come True!

As someone with a lot of Irish Ancestry, and Cherokee ancestry too, my skin goes red--really, really, really red. Like, hold a ghost pepper up to me--I'll be more red, guaranteed. It gets worse as I age too. I tried this BB cream on a whim one day, about a year ago, this stuff corrects all the re...

NOT Universal Shade

I wish I would have read the fine print more closely--I would have been skeptical of the "universal shade" and for good reason. I usually wear the second-darkest shades of most foundation.(My best match is Covergirl Clean in 110). This is about 2 shades too dark for me and extremely yellow. It takes...

Use a foundation brush to apply

Submitted 10 days ago

By Jojo

From New Jersey

I use a brush to apply as I would any foundation. Covers beautifully. I follow with transparent setting powder then buff with sponge. This stuff is great and the best part is that it is light enough that it doesn't feel so heavy on my skin but heavy enough to cover like a foundation. I'm 57 and it doesn't crease in the wrinkles. Full disclosure, I think the setting powder helps with that.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Nope, still ORANGE!

Whatever the product description says this is, don't believe it. This product comes out of the tube a nice, pale green. It looks like it will be perfect to minimize redness. I have very pale skin, redness across my cheeks, a very slight olive undertone, green eyes, and dark hair. From reading the product description and the reviews, I thought this product would be great for me. Nope. As soon as I begin to rub the product into my skin, this product turned an odd ORANGE color. I thought the problem was in my application. I tried a thinner layer. Nope, still ORANGE! I tried using my beauty blender and tapping or stippling. Nope, still ORANGE! I tapped more, maybe I didn't work the product enough for it to melt into my skin. Nope, still ORANGE! I couldn't tell if the product had good coverage, was pore blurring, or was mattifying, because I couldn't see anything but ORANGE. I tried to continue with my makeup. I put on my foundation, blush, powder. Nope, still ORANGE. My daughter looked at my face and agreed it was horrible. I looked like I had used the dust from the bottom of a bag of Doritos to tint my foundation. L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier Magic Cream Anti-Redness may work for someone with a different skin tone. I will agree it stopped redness by magically turning from green to ORANGE. ORANGE is definitely not red. Nope.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Works well

I use a very tiny amount if this on my 52 year old skin and blend it in with my fingers, pressing it into my skin, and a damp beauty blender. I have had no issues with the color not being correct. If you blend it, it does not stay green. I have had no issues with cabinets. You do not need to use a ton of this product. Ensure you are making it part of your skin by pressing it into your skin. This works the same way as a color corrector would. Do not use a ton of this product. I can wear it alone or cover it with any if my foundations and have had no problems. It works if you simply take the time and use it correctly.

I'm 47 years old, and this is my work foundation, and I love it. I have used this for a little over two years now and haven't had any issues with it, and I work outside in the Texas heat.
