I've seen these everywhere and I'm still not quite sure how they work. I'm visually impaired- blind in my right eye. I have a tendency to stab myself with my mascara wand when I have a dizzy spell or get too close to the mirror. (I also have left third cranial nerve palsy, which means my eyes are completely dilated and don't move all the way.) Could someone help me with this please?

You hold the tool against your skin underneath you bottom lashes when you apply mascara, so the extra mascara will go onto the guard instead of your skin underneath your lashes. How exactly does one use the "Ulta beauty Mascara Guard". I'm giving it as a gift but not sure how easy to use and effective it is.

- Verified Reply - Staff ExpertSimply hold the tool so the wide end of the tool is underneath (behind) your lower lashes, or above (behind) your upper lashes when applying mascara. The wide end of the tool will act as a barrier so the mascara does not get on your skin behind your lashes.Was this answer helpful to you

Nothing special
I loved the idea behind this tool, however I feel like it prevents me from being able to actually apply my mascara normally. I'd rather just wipe off any mascara that gets on my upper or lower lids.

Didn't Know This Was a Thing!

I didn't even know these were a thing, but I'm so happy I spied them! I have small, hooded eyes, and this saves me from having to clean up mascara on my skin every time I wear makeup. Love it.
Use it as an eyeshadow guide!
I didn't get this for lashes/mascara. I got this to make a crisp line for my eyeshadow. It works perfectly for my eyeshape and I don't have to bother with tape. Well worth the purchase for me.
I wish it is in a lighter color
Just like the other reviews…i wish this is in a lighter color other than black. I want to see that i applied my mascara evenly but nit in a black background. It does work prevents getting mascara all over my lids.
Needs perfecting..
Please make this in white so i can see my lashes during the application. Also, if it were wider I wouldnt have to re-place it several times during the process & risk getting mascara all over my lid.
