When I first got these Kitsch Mini Claw Clips for Hair, I was unconvinced they weren't just painted plastic. They have a metallic sheen to them that's shiny, and they are incredibly strong - MUCH stronger than the cheesy ones I'm used to purchasing at big box stores. That said, they still kinda look...ed like plastic - so I bent one of the claws on one, and then bent it back. It acted in the same manner as a thin metal (whereas plastic probably would have simply snapped off), so it would appear that they are indeed metal - or at least have enough in them to get the benefits of the extra durability metal tends to lend.These little claw clips open a little wider and hold more hair VERY securely than similarly sized clips I'm used to getting. I have really long, thick hair, and I often use these kinds of clips to keep my hair out of my face - and these do a REALLY good job of holding hair and keeping it in place until you're ready to remove them. They don't budge!I thought at first these were pretty pricey for just a set of 4 little clips, but considering how strong and sturdy they are, I've changed my mind after wearing them a lot. These are just WAY better quality than your average ones, and built to last - and hold very, very well. Excellent clips - they get two thumbs up from me!
