It's nice to have bands that don't grab your hair but hold it sturdy. They are a little thicker than others, which seems to support the hair better.

I bought these for my girlfriend, who needed surgery. Her hair is very curly and knots easily when left down and we knew it would be hard to brush it for quite a few days after thr procedure. I was able to put a bunch of little braids in her hair for her the night before and they all stayed in well and the hairties were soft enough for her not to feel them at all while she was laying on them for days. They also held well keeping the braids in well enough to prevent knotting. I would definitely keep using these.
