Q
Does this help clear sebaceous filaments?
Asked by n/a
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Salicylic Acid 2% Solution targets textural irregularities while removing dead skin cells that can clog pores. And because it promotes exfoliation, this solution helps visibly reduce congestion, giving way to brighter, clearer skin. We hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Q
I have glycolic acid and lactic acid from ordinary, I'm also planning to get this salicylic acid, but I am not sure if they can be used together or separately. How should I use this?
Asked by Shida
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Hi there! If you wish to incorporate all three direct acids into your regimen, we do not recommend using them simultaneously. Instead, we suggest alternating between them or choosing one to use consistently while using the others occasionally or as needed. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is it okay to use this serum with other skin care products from different brands? For example, fenty skin?
Asked by me 💕
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Hi there! Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to comment on the pairing of our products with those of other brands and/or prescription medications. We recommend consulting with your doctor/dermatologist, gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time, and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this be mixed in with a lotion? (As long as the lotion doesn't contain items they react with SA) I understand the intention is to apply this solo - Ideally layered under lotion rather than mixed in it but was hoping to combine it with lotion to cut down on time.
Asked by Sam
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Hi! We would recommend applying Salicylic Acid 2% Solution in a separate layer for best results. Was this answer helpful to you

Helping treat my hormonal acne

Sharing my skincare journey because I was desperate for help when I was trying to figure out my skincare routine. I am 26 years old, fair skin, I have never had major skin issues (acne, oiliness, dryness, etc). I used to not wash my face at all, I would only use makeup remover to take off my eye m...

Used to be a favorite

I was dependent on this product to keep acne and sebaceous filaments away for a long time. Then the formula changed and without it actually going near my eyes, I had a massive allergic reaction. It sensitized my skin so badly that now other products that I was able to use before make my eye swell up...

Unfortunate Reaction

I have happily used Ordinary products for years. In November I started having terrible allergic reactions and cut out all face products save for a simple cleanser and moisturizer. After 4 weeks of having zero reactions, and thinking it must be a food issue, I used the salicylic acid serum this morning. 3 hours later I started to feel that telltale burn in the corner of my eyes and I knew what was coming. I immediately took an antihistamine and washed my face. Unfortunately, it's just getting worse. I have allergy testing scheduled in 2 weeks, and will still do that, but it looks like SA is a big part of the equation.

I constantly get compliments.

A least twice a week I get compliments on how clear my skin is!! I tell everyone to get this. Its so cheap but its not sacrificing its quality. I put this on almost every night right before bed, especially when I'm having acne flare ups and in the morning: clear and clean skin. Its like the bumps werent even there??? I dont have cystic acne or anything that I could say that would help others that have stronger acne flare ups; however, I feel like (with consistent use) it would help.

It's good and it pairs really well with their other serums. I have combination skin so it's hard to find something that doesn't dry me out or make my face more oily so this product is super good

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I used this product for a couple months no problem bought it twice. My new third bottle I used and I got a rash on my eyelids and skin surrounding it, I didn't change anything from my routine and I don't apply directly on or near my eyes took me weeks to fix and was super painful. I at first did not suspect this product to do this but once I stopped using this product my skin was able to slowly heal. It was a burning red flaky and dry

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
