How to Use Lock Function:
- The SMART-XTM High Efficiency Dryer allows you to lock your style settings in place to prevent accidental change during use. To lock your style settings, move the ON-OFF switch to the LOCK position, with the lock symbol. When the dryer is set in the LOCK position, you cannot adjust the heat or speed settings, but the cool shot function may still be used. To change your style settings, simply move the ON-OFF switch from the LOCK position back to the ON position.
How to Use the Self-Cleaning Function:
- The dryer will alert you when it must be cleaned. All three speed lights will flash simultaneously for 5 seconds. During this time, the dryer will NOT function. It will resume functioning on the sixth second. To engage the self-cleaning function, hold down the "Speed Lower" button for approximately 10 seconds. The dryer will automatically self-clean for 15 seconds. Once the cleaning is complete, you may resume using the dryer as normal.

Bad hair dryer for high price
I finally decided I needed to share my opinion about this hair dryer, minutes after I just placed mine in the garbage. I owned this hair dryer for 2 years or slightly under. Not long after buying it I started having issues. The buttons to increase the heat or air flow decided they were only going to work sometimes. I literally had to press both buttons for about 5 minutes each time i used this hair dryer before it would finally react. Tonight it decided it was going to stop blowing hot air all together, so thankfully I finally got to put it in the garbage where it should have went awhile ago, and i am now forced to go buy something else. In all honesty this hair dryer cost way too much for it to have these issues and especially within weeks. I HIGHLY do not recommend this, dont waste your money because I sure did buying this product.
I loved it while it lasted…
I bought this dryer 16 months ago and loved it while it lasted. I turned it on to dry my hair this morning and the three blue lights continuously flashed but the dryer wouldnt turn on. I reset the dryer and tried again. Same thing. Tried a different outlet in my other bathroom and now, nothing. No flashing lights, no power. The outlets are fine - I checked them. There was no warning. I used the dryer yesterday and it wotked just fine. I'm sad - I really liked this dryer. I will not purchase again. Even tho I bought it on sale it was very expensive and didnt last nearly long enough.
terrible dryer
hair stylist here..took back 1st one because of delayed turn on time..same thing w 2nd one. had for less than a yr started blowing out cold air. did everything i was suppose to do w/ both of them. cleaned every week! their 10 yr warranty is crap. 100% do not buy!
Very Happy
I got it a few weeks before Christmas and it's great. It's really light weight and dries my hair really quick. It came with the diffuser which is a necessity with my daughter's curly hair. It has 3 heat and 3 speed setting and a lock button so you don't accidentally change the settings. Its so much quieter than my previous kind.
Would not recommend
This blow dryer seems to use a high amount of voltage/power for what it delivers. It doesnt get as hot which is not good for curly/frizzy hair. Always somehow blows a fuse which has never happened with my other dryers
