Thick for a serum but very effective!

I received this product for free from Influenster and Kenra in exchange for my honest review. Scent: As far as serums go, this one still smelled pretty nice. However, it smells more noticeably different from the shampoo and conditioner--not quite as good, and with a hint of another smell to go with...

Hi, this product got me a bit upset, simply by how it markets itself. IMHO, as a cosmetologist, I look at this and quickly get the impression that they're trying to make people think, by using words like MEND and SEAL, Not to mention the product is called "Kenra Triple Repair Split End Mending Serum" If you were hoping it would seal up all your split ends and fix them, nope.. those need to be cut and unless they are, they'll fray and split higher and higher.. NOW, oils and serums can help temporarily seal the cuticle especially if you use a hot tool (though I'm not advocating) like a flat iron or even a curling iron if you can use it to get the mid shaft-ends prior to curling, that really locks in the seal and is temporarily protecting the ends (easier to just braid your hair after applying some serum or oil) As for bonding shampoo/conditioner/masks/serums I advise everyone to plz talk to their hairdresser before starting a regimen because if it's not right for your hair, it will not be a pleasant experience, can lead to breakage and hair loss because your hair doesn't need repairing and that's what it's for! Unless you dye your hair crazy colors on the regular, toner/bleach required, or are a bleach blonde, you probably don't need anything more than a hair mask and maybe a protein pack from Sally's Beauty (BTW get the protein pack you have to blow dry til your hair is hard, I loved that one when I was having my hair bleached baby blonde, didn't do it more than 1x in a blue moon, as too much protein can be bad and your hair snaps off..) hopefully I've scared some of you enough to talk to their hairdresser

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

This product smells terrible and I don't notice any difference with my hair when I use it. Very disappointing since I typically love Kenra products.
