Parabens are ingredients known as preservatives that protect products against the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast. Parabens are widely used in virtually all product categories. Parabens derived from para-hydroxybenzoic acid. Alternatively, PHBA which occurs naturally in many fruits and vegetables. Parabens have been safely used in products for over 100-years. The parabens used in cosmetics are identical to those found in nature. Your body quickly changes parabens to natural PHBA and eliminates them. Parabens are permitted for use by government agencies across the globe. The parabens currently used as preservatives in some Nioxin products are methylparaben or propylparaben. You will not find isoparaben in ANY NIOXIN product. Does this make your hair easier to brush through? When using system kit shampoo, conditioner and treatment, hair is usually tangly. Will applying this make it easier to brush through before blow drying?

You may wish to purchase a leave-in conditioner or hair oil to apply prior to brushing. Keep the product off of the scalp. Great for thinner curly hair
Have thinner curly hair. Applied foam throughout damp clean hair and at first look like my locks where going to be thin. 30 minutes later hair got drier and scrunched it out to soft, shiny, fuller locks. Pleasant, light clean smell.

I bought this less than a month ago and only got to use it once before it stopped working. definitely an issue with the way the mousse is packaged/designed. I have curly hair and have used mousse for the past 20 years. It doesn't foam, comes out as straight liquid.

I have very fine, very thin, very straight short hair. This product gives me some body, it's not greasy, or sticky. It has a slight, not unpleasant, fragrance. Will it cause my hair to become fuller and thicker? Only time can tell.

I live the Nioxin systems and feel they are effective. I received this mousse as a bonus gift. It is awful. Leaves my fine, clean hair feeling slippery and lank. So glad I didn't waste money on it. Maybe someone with course or curly hair would like the smoothing effect but not me.
Did not like results
I applied the Nioxin Thickening Mousse on my dry roots after using the Nioxin no.3 Shampoo and Conditioner. It felt sticky, and I was unable to brush through it. I had to wash it out and use the Leave-In Conditioner for more volume.
