How long should you wait before switching to the Advance Retinol if the Beginner doesn't irritate your skin after a month or two of use? I have had only minor breakouts and some dryness in one area so far. Thanks!
- Asked by Retinol Beginner
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! Everyone's skin is different, but we recommend starting out with Beginner Retinol 0.1% for at least 3 months. If your skin can tolerate it well and you experience no redness or irritation, then you can start transitioning to Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5%. We always recommend patch testing first, and slowly start to incorporate the Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5% 2-3x a week. Was this answer helpful to you

Can cocokind beginner retinol gel be used with a bha toner?
- Asked by BrownBae
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! Avoid using leave-on acids/exfoliants like glycolic and lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, physical exfoliants, exfoliating pads, and other topical prescription medications when using retinol. Instead, just move them to your morning routine. For instance, you should move your BHA toner to your morning routine. Was this answer helpful to you

Hi! Only ingredient I see that I'm concerned about is soybean oil, which I've read can clog pores. Does the retinol counteract this?
- Asked by Jess
- Official Answer By cocokind - Brand EngageHi! There is actually no FDA regulation for the term “comedogenic." In fact, there are no standardized tests that can accurately determine if an ingredient will or will not clog your pores or cause breakouts. Skin health is completely individual and dependent on genetics and lifestyle choices, including skincare! Everyone's skin is different but I do hope you'll give our retinol a try for yourself. We also always recommend patch testing our products on a small area of skin to see if our ingredients work for you!Was this answer helpful to you

I was afraid of retinol at first, but now I won't go without
First off, I would like show my appreciation for the awesome instructions on how to use this retinal gel. I was really nervous about using this initially because of all the scary and bad things people have said about retinol, like...it dries out your skin, burn easily, changes pigmentation, etc. I h...

Increases skin sensitivity for me, but still a gentle retino
I have fairly sensitive skin and have had issues with retinols and tretinoins in the past. This retinol product goes on gently and I have had no drying or redness (I paired it at night with the ceramide serum and the polypeptide cream). However, it has increased my skin sensitivity; when I tried usi...

I tried using a 0.1 retinol before but my skin was not a fan. Since i'm getting older, I knew I needed something for my skin so I decided to try this product as cocokind is all over my fyp. Started slow and have worked by way up (and will stay) at 3 times a week! Skin is seeing sooo many positive changes such as lighter scars and less lines!
Highly recommended!

Great retinol for sensitive skin. I've experienced better texture, an anti-inflammatory response, less sebum production and firmer skin. With gradual introduction I think even those with the most sensitive skin can use this retinol. My skin is very sensitive and extremely oily, this has been a game changer, gradually introducing me to the benefits retinol provides. I had a purging process that occurred for 2-3 months. Other users are stating that they think the retinol is causing acne, but I truly believe this isn’t the case and that any increase in breakouts is due to purging. Vegan and cruelty free, truly happy with the product.

Game changer! I'm in my 30s and continue to struggle with combo skin and hormonal acne. My physician gave me prescription retinol and after 8 months, my skin was worse. On a whim, I decided to try cocokind’s beginner retinol and noticed a complete difference immediately! After 3 months of use, I still get occasional hormonal acne but it’s significantly less and not cystic. I’ve had several compliments on how great my skin is looking - feels great!
Amazing
I am 39-years-old and have very sensitive skin. I've used this retinol for not quite a year. It is amazing--the first 2-3 weeks, use maybe 2-3 times a week, as your skin will burn. I use a moisturizer after it. However, your skin will adjust to it. It is the only thing that has helped to control my cystic acne (achne doesn't stop in your 30s apparently). My skin has significantly cleared, and it has helped to control inflammation with my skin, as well (my skin is clear but will flare up with various allergies quite often). It's helped with sun damage, and has lightened sun marks on my face, as well. I have always taken care of my skin, but I struggled to find something that worked for my sensitive skin--Coco Kind definitely works. :)
Fav retinol cream of all time :-)

Absolutely love this retinol cream. The best I've ever used. And for such a reasonable price. It feels so silky and never irritates my skin like typical retinol creams do. Recommending to all my friends! The perfect “starter†retinol, then you can always increase in frequency or strength. No more little bumps (comedones) on my forehead and helps with fine lines :)
