Hi M! Thanks for your question. Absolutely, all of the Joico Collections are safe for color treated hair! Hope that helps clarify! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this product sulfate free?
Asked by CMichelle
Official Answer By Joico - Brand Engage
Hi CMichelle! Thank you for your question. The Joico Color Balance Blue Shampoo is not free of sulfate. Please note: At Joico we use high quality sulfates that are cleansing enough to rid the hair of build up and debris, but not strong enough to strip hair color molecules. Our shampoos are formulated to mimic the pH of hair to ensure we are not raising the cuticular layer or causing unneeded aggression. We hope this gives you some clarification! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you
Q
How often can this shampoo and conditioner be used on white/gray hair that has some yellowing?
Asked by White hair before 30
Official Answer By Joico - Brand Engage
Hi there! Thank you for your question. We would not recommend the Color Balance Blue Collection for white/gray hair. We would recommend the Blonde Life Violet Collection which will instantly banish undesirable yellow tones. Depending on your desired tone, we would recommend starting with Blonde Life Violet Shampoo & Conditioner 1-2 times per week. If you're looking for a cooler tone, 2-3 times a week will help maintain cool tones. Or if you are looking to control more brassy/yellow tones, the Color Balance Purple Collection would be a better fit. We would recommended pairing the shampoo with the conditioner for best results. Hope this helps clarify! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Would this help hair that is colored vivid blue? Would it prolong the blue ?
Asked by Tonya
Official Answer By Joico - Brand Engage
Hi Tonya! Thanks for your question. The Color Balance Blue Shampoo is not formulated to add that much pigment to hair. It is also only recommended to use is 1x a week. We would recommend the Joico Colorful Anti-Fade Collection which is formulated with nourishing Camellia Oil and Pomegranate Fruit Extract, our anti-fade collection helps provide shine, strength, and protection from color-fading elements. It’s a brilliant and beautiful trio that keeps you true-to-hue. Hope that helps clarify! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Does this product color deposit?
Asked by Mel
Official Answer By Joico - Brand Engage
Hi Mel! Thanks for your question! Yes, the Color Balance Blue Collection is formulated to neutralize unwanted orange tones and brassiness throughout the hair by depositing blue tones. We would recommended pairing the shampoo with the conditioner for best results. Hope that helps clarify! ✨💕Was this answer helpful to you

4 weeks in so far so good

I got this product about 4 weeks ago and I honestly see the difference. For reference I got a balayage done 6 months ago and bc of covid I haven't been able to get back to the salon so my hair began to turn reddish/brassy. I started this shampoo about a month ago and my hair is now a nice dark honey...

Dried/damaged my hair

Wow I never leave reviews but I need to save someone else from trying this. I strayed from my usual stylist and my highlights turned orange. I got this shampoo after reading reviews "my blonde turned blue/green bla bla" I thought 'great, powerful stuff! just what I need!' I put it on my orange highl...

lots of hair breakage!

I have brunette hair and have just the roots colored about every six weeks. My hair grows fast and I have lots of red undertones as the color fades. My stylist suggested this product. I followed the directions and used it once every other week for 3 minutes.. My hair has never broken off before and at all these different lengths. I have used it a total of four times and it's going in the trash. I have always had healthy hair and my stylists always said so. I've had highlights twice in my life. Skip this product or you"ll have more hair issues!

It smells heavenly

My hair turns brassy so fast after dying it so i decided to get this product! I used it three times within two weeks and my hair is already brassy again! TWO! WEEKS!! It also turned it into dry straw. I didnt relaize this product was drying my hair out until i went back to my usual conditioner. This conditioner smells so good though, but that's all it has going for it. 2/5 because of the smell and docking 3 because it doesnt prevent your hair from turning brassy + will dry your hair out so bad.

WORKS WHEN USED AS DESCRIBED & intended

Submitted 10 months ago

By bundysmom

From Vegas

People yall need to read the description & label. THIS IS FOR BRUNETTES who are highlited/dyed blonde, who have ORANGE ROOT/tones in their strands. IT IS NOT FOR YELLOW TONES! Use a purple shampoo for that, not orange. When used as described & for the purposes intended, this TONES DOWN ORANGE ROOTS. It WILL NOT work on yellow, but it will turn your yellow hair green. So don't use it. You cannot use this daily - it clearly tells you on the label the intervals in which to use this. Why are people not following directions and leaving bad reviews Works very well. Use a leave-in conditioner after use with the conditioner to combat dryness. This product eliminates orange roots over time. It is not a one use wonder & multiple uses are required.

It worked for me from the first use. I definitely saw an improvement in overall brassiness. It is drying so use a deep conditioner after using.

Wondered why my scalp and the nape of my neck developed hives after using this... Because there is limonene AND linalool in these products! Highly allergic to both of those ingredients. Also turned the texture of my hair in to straw. JUNK!
