Why in the directions does it say to wash it off after applying it? Can you use a cotton ball to apply rather than your hands?

Is there any citrus, citric acid, exotic fruit (papaya, pineapple etc.) either in this or used in the ingredients production? For example aloe seemingly always has something to stabilize the ingredient, often a form of citric acid or citrate.
