Edit: Below was my review from applying to wearing it roughly 3hrs. Unfortunately hours passed that, the foundation was kind of flaking & crumbling on my skin. It almost looked like my skin was dry & that was causing the flaking but nope. I also believe this broke me out a bit. That has never happen...

previous formula was the perfect foundation for pictures or special events, it was still wearable for daily wear. did it sit on top of the skin? yes but it was THEE blurring foundation before blurring foundations were a thing so you could count on it to smooth everything out with a high medium coverage. i'd ALWAYS get compliments on how smooth my skin looked with it even without primer it really smoothed out my large pores. i have super oily skin and it held up well for me. This reformulation has a thinner consistency. it has a more light medium/medium coverage which is fine. i think it's meant to look more "natural" but i just think it really missed the mark. it has retained that, sitting on top of the skin quality but NOW it no longer has that blurring effect it once had. so, its mask-like due to the formula/texture just having that sitting-on-skin look but it'll never really look natural. almost as though you took out all of the good qualities of the OG and left the bad ones. the mattifying quality isn't as it used to be. i had to touch up a bit more compared to the previous formula. these reformulations to market products as having skincare has been a cancer to MAC in particular. there are other brands who already do that and they do it well. it's like this was trying to be sheer glow with the coverage, skincare etc but sheer glow doesn't have that sitting-on-top-of-skin look. it always just looks like i have good skin with a little bit of makeup on whereas this just looks like i have more makeup on than i do and kind of accentuates my pores, not that it pools or anything it's more like the mask-like texture kinda just brings more attention to them in a way.

Mac I have seen so many reviews asking you to bring back Pro longwear foundation that was AMAZING! PLEASE listen to your customers and give us what we want!! I have tried ever other foundation you make and every other brand and nothing compares to the Pro LongWear one.. PLEASE bring it back in original formula!!

I could cry because of the change in formula. I miss the old one so much. It was my perfect match for 10 years! This new stuff oxidizes on my face and looks orange. It also settles into fine lines and ages me. Please bring back the old stuff that we all loved. I really don't know what I'm gonna do now but I know I'm not gonna buy MAC anymore.
Mid coverage
The coverage was mediocre I should have gone with fenty. This make up does not oxidize so that was disappointing.
