If you're not using any other actives and your skin is pretty bad, I would always recommend 2% bha. But if you're using prescription retinoids and your skin is super bad because purging is a nightmare, this serum is bomb. Good, but not for me
To start: I have combo skin and have bad hormonal acne. I regularly use acids and exfoliation products to combat it. So a product like this serum, which seems to be weaker in order to be more gentle on the skin, isn't for me. I believe this product is good, but it's one where the pros could be cons depending on what exactly you're looking for. I would recommend this serum to people who might want an exfoliation or acne-treating product, but have sensitive skin, or skin that isn't used to such treatments. It's weaker than other acne treatments and requires consistent use for longer than other treatments to see results (about 1.5 weeks with twice daily use for me), but it's not as harsh or damaging to the skin. My face never once felt irritated or dry after using this. It also is designed to be paired with a salicylic acid face wash, so it makes sense why it's weaker and more gentle than other serums. Overall, if you're looking for or need a strong acne serum, you probably won't like this product. But if you're just dipping your toes into acids, have more sensitive skin (though keep in mind it does still have salicylic acid), or personally want a gentler treatment that others, you'll want to look into this product. Again, it's not as fast-working as other treatments in clearing acne, but that's the payoff for a gentler serum.

I have acne and dry skin. This stuff really helps. I like to put it on, let it soak, and then put pure aloe on tip.
good for skin and wallet
After using this for a year my mild acne has subsides. My skin looks clear and feels great. The bottle also lasts a while so it's good on a budget.

I have used the Derma E Acne Control Serum on and off since my 20s. My skin was more acne-prone when I was younger, but I use it when I have acne outbreaks. I have found that it does decrease some acne, but it does not make the acne go away altogether. It's better to use it than to not use it at all, especially if you are looking for a drugstore acne serum. I'll continue to use it on and off for my acne for the future, but keep in mind that it does that make all your acne go away.
IN MY EVERYDAY NIGHT ROUTINE
I am in love witb this product. I recommend it for people who have acne and blackheads. This has helped my skin improve. I recommend pairing it with the "Acne Deep Pore Cleansing Wash."
