- Start with a clean, dry face. Put on mask and adjust straps for comfort.
- Turn on the mask by pressing and holding the remote's center dial.

I have heard great things about this type of mask but couldn't convince myself to spend $500+ on one or buy a cheap one that may cause more harm than good. When I saw this one I decided to give it a try because I love every Shark product I own and trust the brand. I was skeptical but the first night I used it and ran the aging program and acne program, moisturized and went to sleep. My skin was glowing when I woke up! Excited to see long term results now! The only thing I was surprised by was that if you run the cooling eye pad there is a fan type sound, it isn't terrible but it is noticeable.
It's not enjoyable to use.
I had a generic Cleopatra LED mask that I used for years and it finally died, then this was released and I was excited by it. Sadly, I just don't like the Shark CryoGlow. First off, it's quite heavy. I used to lie down while using my LED mask but when using the Shark the weight of the entire mask rests on the cooling eye pads and one pinched spot on the bridge of my nose. In the week I used it daily while lying down, I actually had puffier and redder undereyes after each use because the mask pushed so heavily into my skin. Okay, I thought: I'll have to adjust and use this while sitting up. That didn't work either. Even after adjusting the straps at length, the mask was still so heavy that it sagged downward away from my face and felt like it was trying to drag my skin with it. (Totally counterproductive from the ultimate skincare goal!) So it's just too heavy to use comfortably. Then there's the clunky technology of the remote control. The remote is nearly as heavy as the mask! It plugs into an awkward spot on the mask and cannot be removed. Also, the menu feels very much like an early generation iPod (whereas my previous mask had tap technology on the mask itself). The cooling feature is nice but I can get that with a gel eye mask or refrigerated sheet mask, and I was bothered that the cooling pads were larger and lower in my face than I wanted which wouldn't allow much of my cheeks to benefit from the LED. In the end this seems like original face-mask technology, like it's a 20-yer-old relic and not something new and groundbreaking. It's the original clunky metal Terminator when I wanted the T-1000. Sadly, this is getting returned.
Not for me
Unfortunately this was a fun splurge idea using my points and taking advantgae of the sale, however after trying for first use ive concluded this type of skincare tool just isnt for me! The mask felt bulky and heavy to wear, its good treatments are only 6-8 mins depending on which option you choose/ however it still felt uncomfortable and left me w a slight headache afterwards! The red light also bothered my eyes even though i kept them closed & it seemed like the mask got hot on my skin towards the end despite the fan and the cryo pads. The cryo pads actually felt nice but were almost too cold even on the lowest setting! My under eye area was dark afterwards which is strange bc i dont have dark circles to begin with, overall it just isnt something i would reach for daily. Last little nitpicky issue is that the cord is really short making it annoying to charge & apparently from the user manual it takes 3hrs to charge and is only good for 3-4 uses - with the treatment times being so short i found this to be an extremely short battery life which would also deter me from using it often- some people do seem to love it tho so it reallt comes down to preference!!
Very well built!
I've been wanting to get ine of these for a few years but waited for the right one. I love that this has the under eye cooling pads. The rechargeable battery is a nice touch too. It's definitely the largest of all these led masks out but it also has tons of features. The remote is awesome with a great display. Multiple settings means I can choose what is needed. It comes with a nice case and its FDA cleared which is a huge deal to me. Can't wait to see my results in a few weeks!
