i have purchased the elf gripping primer religiously but i also noticed an increase of acne when i would use it. So i decided to make a switch just to see how good this product was since it is cheaper then elf. And honestly it is amazing i loved it, it is not too gripping and doesnt make my makeup feel cakey. it goes on like serum like a sticky serum

Doesn't work I swear
I bought this primer thinking that it would be a awesome cheap primer!..... But it was not, once you put it on it feels a little sticky but when you apply your makeup the primer drys before your makeup can stick to the primer and then you are left with a moist face. I love essence but this product was not it for me.
Great Primer
This has been great for my oily skin and keeping my foundation from looking cakey
Better than other gripping primers
This primer is one of the best I've tried. I much prefer it to the elf hydro grip or other similar products. The essence one feels a little thinner and more hydrating/glowy while still helping your makeup to last longer. It does a great job smoothing and priming your skin. I have sensitive skin and didn't experience any issues. Normally, I don't find that primers really do much, but this one makes a noticeable difference.
