There are serious issues with the spring that allows you to open and close the iron to curl. It's like the spring gets too hot, softens, and ends up stuck and the iron won't close all the way to secure the hair. I use the tool the way it is intended. I absolutely love that this is a long barrel curling iron. I have long hair and this is so easy to use on all areas around my head. This curls so quickly and leaves your hair shiny and pretty all day long. This has multiple settings for heat depending on how hot you like your iron. This didn't damage my hair just left it looking like the salon did it. So that's a huge yes for me. I curled my whole head in less than ten minutes!

I liked the look of this curling rod and it's very effective in terms of retaining curls. Love the quality and the barrel size. My only downside is it uses heat metal hence chances of heat damage to my hair.
