How To Use

Spray primer evenly and liberally (you can't use too much) onto damp or dry hair and work through.

Q
Is it safe to use before heat styling your hair ? (Blow drying clean hair)
Asked by shayyyy
Official Answer By Bumble & Bumble US
The Bumble and bumble Prep Primer is a light weight option to use on freshly washed or dry hair to prep before apply your styling products. If you are needing a thermal protection option we recommend the Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat Protectant Leave In Conditioner Primer. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I have fine, wavy, frizzy hair. I have used Prep spray together with the Thickening spray. Should I use the Heat Shield Thermal Protection mist as well? if so, in what order?
Asked by DiDi
Official Answer By Bumble & Bumble US
We are so glad you asked! You can use the Heat Shield Thermal Protection Mist with your regimen on dry hair. This mist protects dried hair against heat tools (up to 450 degrees), repairs damage, and helps prevent breakage.. I recommend using the Prep Primer, and Thickening Spray on damp hair before blow drying. For second day hair, spritz the Heat Shield Thermal Protection Mist on dry hair before heat styling. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this product safe to use on color-treated hair?
Asked by Kiwi
Official Answer By Bumble & Bumble US
Bb. Prep Primer does not make any color safe claim. We suggest working directly with your Bumble and bumble. Stylist in the Salon to choose the best products for you.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Does this product have a thicker consistency or is it more of a fine liquid consistency?
Asked by Shelby
Official Answer By Bumble & Bumble US
Thanks for your question. Bb.Prep Primer is a lightweight liquid consistency. It's a perfect choice to prep the hair for styling. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this be used together with the Invisible oil primer or does the invisible oil primer do what this does plus heat protection?
Asked by arnoldsbaby14
Official Answer By Bumble & Bumble US
Thanks for your question - we're happy to help! Bb.Prep Primer is ideal for detangling and preparing fine to medium hair for styling. Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat and UV Protective Primer works well for medium to thick hair that is needing heat and uv protection in addition to hydration, detangling, defrizzing, and smoothing. We hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Wonderful for creating texture

Prep works excellent as a layering product for texture and volume. My hair is poker straight and very fine, and I can actually get my hair to hold curl with Prep. My hair doesnt fall flat throughout the day either, which is great.

Probably good, but not for my hair. Prefer HIO primer.

Probably great for some hair types, but this seemed to dry out my hair. Perhaps I wash too often or am just getting older, but I preferred the sample of HIO primer, which also seemed to give a good base but my hair wasn't as flyaway at the end. I tried as a refresher on Day 2 as well, but I still e...

Not just for fine hair!

This primer detangler works great and smells amazing! I have thick, naturally curly hair and it works great for me, even though the bottle says for fine hair. I pair it was B&B Don't Blow It Thick Hair Styler. Leaves my hair, soft shiny and curly and not sticky or crunchy. Definitely recommend.

My Hair's BFF for years

I have fine hair but ALOT of it. This detangles and gives a little lift. I use a few sprays right out of the shower daily. I've tried less and more expensive alternatives but always come back to this product. It has been my go to for about 10 years. My only complaint is I can only order it on line. I will add I love all the BB products have not found a bad one yet.

I wish this was silicone free

I used to like this product but since going silicone free with my new products I don't like the way it works with my hair. I love the smell and wish it came without silicones as this would pair amazing with the new Seaweed shampoo and conditioner. I prefer light sprays to detangle vs a cream in that line.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Best Detangling Ever and It Smells GREAT!

I have had the most baby fine, thinnest, flattest hair my entire life, and I pretty much grew up using that famous detangler for kids and used it well into adulthood. When I started researching hair products a year or so ago & eventually started switching my hair routine over to 100% B&B products, I decided to try BB Prep after watching a video that recommended using it with Don't Blow It (Fine). Don't Blow It (Fine) is my holy grail product I won't ever live without, but BB Prep is a close second! I stopped blow drying my hair much years ago & I don't like to spend a lot of time on my hairs, and those two products + BB's Thickening shampoo & conditioner are my regular-use products now. I go through a LOT of BB Prep because I use it generously - usually spry it right out of the shower & then a few spritzes again after my hair's dried a little, and before I use Don't Blow It (Fine). They work SO well together, and after using both I twist my hair into a bun on top of my head and go about my business or go to sleep, and the next day when I take it down it just looks and feels great! Nothing crunchy & it doesn't feel like I have any product in my hair, just feels soft & smells good and holds the waves great! I hardly ever brush my hair (and therefore don't damage/break it so much) because I don't need to with BB Prep & Don't Blow It (Fine) - I just take it down and fix it/fluff it with m fingers and I'm good to go! Sometimes if I'm going out I'll spritz a little BB Does It All on my hair (especially my bangs, and especially if it's windy) just to keep it together. I also use Pret-A-Powder often (sometimes powder, sometimes spray) with these products, especially on second and third day hair days. They all just work so well together! As far as BB Prep, it smells so fantastic and fresh and doesn't feel sticky at all going on, and it detangles wonderfully! Thanks to BB Prep I don't have to work so hard brushing my hair out after showering - no damage or breaks!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I use this as a primer to set angle my hair, especially on the weekends when I use the Sunday shampoo.
