Not Your Mothers Way To Grow Shampoo works for me

I've been using the Not Your Mother's Way to Grow shampoo and conditioner set for 3 weeks now. I use these products 3-4 times weekly and have exclusively used this haircare line since receiving it in order to provide an honest review. This product seamlessly became part of my night time shower routi...ne and was easy to use just like any other shampoo, just massage through your hair, rinse, and viola, it's that simple! I have noticed a marked improvement in my hair since using the Way to Grow shampoo+conditioner system. My hair is more shiny, smooth, and soft. My biggest problems with my hair have always been dryness, frizz and static, and breakage and so far I can say the Not Your Mother's products have drastically improved (dare I say eliminated) those concerns. While I like the shampoo in conjunction with the conditioner, judging it by itself I would just say it is just OK. The reasons I don't love the shampoo are that firstly it is very thick. I find that the consistency of the shampoo is so thick that I have to squeeze the container pretty hard to get it out, and then as a result I end up with more then I needed in my hand. Secondly, I don't care for the apple scent. The scent of this shampoo thankfully isn't overly strong, but it is very artificial and reminds me of a scented hand sanitizer. I would much prefer if this shampoo was a more neutral scent; something like vanilla would be lovely! I also will mention that the first 2 weeks of using the Way to Grow shampoo and conditioner I did experience an increase in scalp dryness (lots of flakes from my scalp), but I stuck it out and that issue thankfully resolved. Overall I like this shampoo when used WITH the companion Not Your Mother's Way to Grow conditioner but I don't know that I would ever use this product by itself. I feel like after using the conditioner is when I notice the silky softness in my hair and the shampoo alone just seemed to leave my hair feeling like any old drug store shampoo, it felt clean but not any healthier until adding the conditioner. I will say I am a new fan of the Not Your Mothers hair care brand as a whole now thanks to these products. I saw right away on the packaging that they are made in the USA, cruelty free, and sulfate free which is important to me when choosing hair products. I plan to continue purchasing this shampoo in the future as part of the Way to Grow shampoo/conditioner set and look forward to trying out more Not Your Mother's products!
